Fraud Blocking™ for Card Transactions
Fraud Blocking is a component of the CV Switch Management System. Because all monetary transactions route through the switch, it provides an essential layer to the transaction authorization process.

Define rules at any time. They take effect immediately.
Rules can be defined by any of the following, or a combination of them:
- Country
- State
- City
- Address
- Dollar ranges
- Card ranges
Actions
Decide what happens
Decline

Capture
Request that the card be captured by the merchant or ATM device.
Alert and allow

Follow-up and exclusions
- Each fraud incident sends an alert to the Fraud Control department for follow-up research.
- Reports are provided on a business-day basis for review and follow-up.
- Cardholder records can be excluded from certain rules, for example a cardholder traveling out of the country.
- Exclusions can be set to expire based on the cardholder's travel plans.

Yes. Rules can be defined by country, state, city, address, dollar range or card range, or by a combination of them.
Does every rule decline the transaction?
No. A rule can decline the transaction, request that the card be captured by the merchant or ATM device, or alert Fraud Control and allow the transaction to complete.
What about cardholders who are traveling?
Cardholder records can be excluded from certain rules, for example while a cardholder travels out of the country, and the exclusions can be set to expire based on the cardholder's travel plans.
